I employed Tom for major repair to a section of my roof. The job was completed quickly and professionally. The team were very courteous throughout and a pleasure to work with. They cleaned the roof of moss and cleared out all the gutters and sprayed the roof with a protective coating which was all additional to the job.

Avoid Alliance and Tom Coffee at all costs. I hired him to solve a problem with a pipe on my roof and it was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. I was persuaded that scaffolding needed to go up just to fix the pipe, which of course afforded Tom the opportunity to “sell” me a whole new roof. Note his team started to rip up tiles before I gave the go ahead, leaving me little choice that it had to happen there and then. While I choose to go ahead, there were many promises the pipe would be sorted in the process. Spoiler alert..it wasn’t.
Despite promises to keep everything clean, there was no effort to actually do it neatly or cleanly. The workmanship was shoddy, leaving behind a lot of dirt and I’ve been finding bits of roof tile in my flower beds for months. At one point they threw buckets of water at my front door which ended up in my hallway. Rubble tipped down my chimney onto a gas fire and out onto a new carpet.
They put so many men on my flat roof that the inside of my newly decorated loft ceiling cracked and water leaked down into the bathroom, causing both electrical and surface damage. There was also some mysterious damage to my neighbour’s flat roof, leading to challenges there also. Tom promised at this point to pay for the damage and in good faith I believed him.
I discovered a few weeks after the work finished that the waste pipe that needed to be rerouted, was in fact removed. This meant that waste from a toilet was running across my kitchen roof, into the gutters and running off into my other neighbour’s garden. It took several attempts to explain this to Tom and his team, despite it having been the whole reason the scaffolding went up in the first place. Oddly they managed to fix it with just ladders, no scaffolding needed…
Despite numerous promises to compensate for the damage, Tom has failed to follow through. His communication has been appalling, with excuses and delays at every turn. He claims to be out of the country/at a funeral/sick every week. Fellow neighbours who have worked with him have also had similar challenges. I am now left with a hefty bill to repair their mistakes.
Save yourself the stress, time, and money – do not hire this roofer. His lack of professionalism, poor craftsmanship, and disregard for customer satisfaction is unacceptable

Both Tom and his crews worked methodically and quickly to firstly make good on the existing surface and then put two coats of paint onto the back of the house including glossing the soil pipe. This was done within the estimated two days. I am delighted with the result!

A friendly and professional service from quote to completion. Guttering and drainpipes from the front and rear of my house were removed and good quality replacements installed. Dry verge caps were fitted to the end apex of the house and extension and look great. The old leading at the rear of the house was removed and new installed. The house not only looks so much better – more importantly it’s now weatherproof. All this work was completed in one day by professional tradesmen who provided a top quality service and tidied everything away before they left. A top local firm you can trust.
